Many Faces of Microsoft's facial recognition service

Microsoft offers a rather powerful service for facial recognition in live videos - Microsoft Azure. But its full capacity is widely unknown.

Our task was to make its power known to potential business partners. Rather than telling people about all of the exciting features, we showed them instead.

We created avatars - based on information about gender, age, emotion and other attributes - and superimposed them on the corresponding faces in a livestream.

Then we set up an interactive installation at the biggest rockstar tech event in Germany, the "Year of the Rooster" festival in Munich where international specialists experienced this service first hand.

In the end, half of the conferences social media coverage referred to our experience-spreading the word about the many faces of Microsoft's facial recognition services.
